The size of your pendant light depends on the room and the area you want to illuminate. For kitchen islands or dining tables, a general rule is to choose a pendant that’s about 1/2 to 2/3 the width of the surface. For high ceilings or large rooms, consider larger or multiple pendants for balanced illumination.
For dining tables or kitchen islands, hang your pendant light 30 (77cm) to 36 inches (92cm) above the surface for ideal task lighting. If placing it in an open area, make sure there is at least 7 feet (2.1m) of clearance from the floor to the bottom of the pendant to avoid any obstructions.
